For those of you who are not familiar with what the Blue Knights are about, simply put, we are a Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club. Our members consists of full time and part time law enforcement officers. We actively participate and sponsor numerous fund raising programs for March of Dimes, American Cancer Society, and local area charities. The Blue Knights are also about promoting motorcycling safety, family recreation, and the pleasure of riding.

If you would like to become a member, please stop on by the club house, we meet on the 1st Tuesday of every month at the Fairfield Civic Center on 221 Hollywood Avenue in Fairfield, NJ at 7:30 PM. Look forward to seeing you there.

A Message From Our Chapter President

To All Members,

Thank you to those that have been present at the meetings and had the confidence to place the leadership of the club in my hands.

Still, I respect that I have been a member only 5 years or so and many of you have been members since the beginning. Your suggestions and guidance will always be welcome. There is a wealth of knowledge that comes with your experience and I do anticipate that you will share those thoughts and good times with the club.

I have a different perspective with how we should function as a club. We are a motorcycle club comprised of law enforcement officers and some members of the public that we honor for their support. We have come together to ride, have some fun, share good times, promote safe riding and from time to time help others that are less fortunate than us. It's that simple, that's the plan.

Everyone and everything starts with a clean slate in 2011. My intention is to build this club, and its membership, not to destroy it.

What happens at the meetings stays at the meetings. When disagreement arises it is settled at the meeting, and it's over. No hostility toward one another leaves the room. We leave the room united and as one club and a family.

Dues are collected between September 1, and November 30 from this point. International Membership Dues will be submitted December 1 of every year for the following year. You are an adult. You are aware of the time schedule for the dues so there is no excuse for the club to chase you for dues. You're late, you pay late fees. You don't pay, You're out. You are responsible for this.

Members will be expected to participate, that includes rides, club events and monthly meetings. Failure to do so may be reason for your membership in this club to be forfeited. Mandatory runs or events will be announced 3 months prior to the event.

If you have not attended 3 consecutive meetings you have no voice on the floor because of your absences. Clearly, you haven't a clue as to what is going on because you have been absent.

Members will now be required to make at least 8 monthly meetings. Runs will be considered as a meeting.

The President and Vice-President will be the only two executive board members that can excuse members from meetings.

If you are going to come to the meeting with a problem or a complaint, be prepared with the solution to your problem or complaint.

You will be excused from monthly meetings only when a phone call is received requesting to be excused. I am a firm believer in family first, if there is a problem reach out to the club. I expect that no member to jeopardize their safety coming to a meeting where there are severe weather warnings in effect.

Any changes or additions affecting the club will be promptly posted on our website and facebook.

Members are required to increase our membership roster. This was one of the largest Blue Knight Chapters at one time, and as one of the youngest members in this club I want this to be one of, if not the biggest Chapter in NJ.

Previously I requested pictures from the Charter Members and Senior Members of this club. I am interested in building a history for the club. To this purpose we can exhibit to prospective members where the club has been and where the club is headed. If you have a picture and can identify everyone in the picture and provide a brief description as to what was happening, this will be an asset to the club.
